The Division will be presenting a series of workshops for visual artists focused on issues of importance to their careers today. 

These workshops will take place at 3 regional locations around the state January 4-7.  The workshop schedule is as follows:

January 4th- Tallahassee
Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science 
9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Morning Session- Your Images and the Jury
Important information and discussion on actual slides and tips for the jury process. 
Afternoon Session- Marketing and Survival for the Artist Marketing techniques and strategies for visual artists. 

January 5th- Fort Lauderdale
ArtServe, Inc.
9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

January 6-7th- Clearwater

Day 1- Marketing and Survival for the Artist
Marketing techniques and information on trends for visual artists trying to survive today. 
Day 2- Your Slides and the Jury
Important information for every visual artist about slide/image presentation and the jury process.  Actual slides from participants will be discussed. 

At workshops in Clearwater and Fort Lauderdale attendees will also benefit from lunchtime "table topics" on various topics of significance to artists and their careers.  Table topics may include: discussion with gallery owners, information on artist grants, public art information, financial planning information and health and benefits information. 



About the Presenter
The workshops will be presented by Bruce Baker.  Bruce has lead over 500 workshops throughout the United States and Canada over the last 20 years.  He speaks on a variety of topics related directly to artists marketing their work.  He is currently the owner of two galleries in Vermont and has served as the secretary of the American Craft Council and is on the board of directors for the Arts Business Institute.  Bruce also acts as a contributing editor to "The Crafts Report."  His workshops are lively, entertaining and motivational. 



Registration
The registration fee for each workshop is $35 which includes all workshop materials, refreshments, lunch and an informative CD.  Registering for both days of workshops in Clearwater is $50. 

For registration contact information, please see the links on the right.  Registration will not be available through the Division of Cultural Affairs.  You must register through the Local Arts Agency hosting the workshop you wish to attend.  Information can be found on the blue bar at the right.
