"I fully believe I was born into this world to be an actor; the theatre is my truest passion. If it were up to me, there'd be a theatre in every town." As an extension of that statement, Gaylen has realized her passion in the daily work she does at the agency. With an artist's heart and the fervor born of such values, her goal of increasing all arts experiences for all communities across the state is the focus of her career. "The arts change lives, as we all know. I am proud to be part of a statewide team that can facilitate such changes for our citizens. " But her life isn't all artswork; she spends every weekend riding and learning more about her Paso Fino gelding. "His name is Galan which means 'leading man.' So it all goes back to arts anyway. Aren't the coincidences in life interesting?"  Gaylen holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from Florida State University and is celebrating being with DCA since 1990.
