Art Builds Florida

Overview

Art Builds Florida is a statewide student art contest. It is designed to encourage student artwork and promote Florida’s strategic plan to further the development of arts and culture throughout Florida, Culture Builds Florida’s Future.

The contest is open to all Florida high school students grades 9 through 12.

Contest Deadline Extended! Entries can be submitted until January 20, 2009.

Each of the 4 key areas of Culture Builds Florida's Future has been assigned to a region of Florida. Students must submit original, 2-dimensional artwork promoting the category assigned to their region. (see category list)

  1. Region 1: Leadership
  2. Region 2: Design and Development
  3. Region 3: Learning and Wellness
  4. Region 4: Strengthening the Economy

Contest Dates

  • September 8, 2008 - begin accepting entries
  • January 20, 2009 - stop accepting entries
  • February 2009 - finalists announced
  • March 2009 - contest exhibition
