JAMES BABANIKOS
James Babanikos is an associate professor in the Department of Telecommunication at the University of Florida, where he teaches courses in Advanced Media Writing. He has previously taught at Concordia University and the University of Iowa. He is the recipient of many honors for his work in writing, producing, directing and editing, including a recent award at the 2001 National Broadcasting Society’s Professional Production Competition. James is currently working on several projects, including a screenplay for a dramatic feature film on homelessness, and a one-hour documentary on Turkish female identity and culture.
SARAH BOONE
A native of Jacksonville, Sarah has worked in television, radio and theatre across the country as a performer, director, producer and manager. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and continued her training in New York studying acting with HB Studio founder Herbert Berghof and musical theatre with Tony award-winning actress Donna McKechnie. Following a Rotary Foundation graduate scholarship in Scotland, she won a teaching fellowship at American University in Washington, DC where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Arts Management and Communications. Before returning to Jacksonville, Sarah worked as Special Projects Manager at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, and prior to that was Senior House Manager at New York's Westside Theatre, off-broadway. In addition to regional theatre credits, she has produced, directed and performed a series of cabaret shows in Jacksonville, including annual cabaret benefits for Theatre Jacksonville, and in New York where she appeared at The Duplex, Don't Tell Mama and The Triad. Sarah is currently the Executive Director of Theatre Jacksonville.
HOLLY COLLINS
Holly J. Collins is an adjunct professor at the University of West Florida, and is also the art gallery director of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts at the university. She recently had an invitational exhibition at the A.R.C. Gallery in Chicago and a solo exhibition at the Gallery of Art in Panama City. Holly’s work appears in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad.
SONYA DAVIS
Sonya Davis is the Vice President of Services and Education for the Palm Beach County Cultural Council. Prior to serving in this capacity, she held a development position at the Norton Museum of Art, where she managed grants and sponsorships. While serving six years as a school board director, she developed award-winning educational initiatives in conjunction with the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs Center for School Change and the Center for Reducing Rural Violence. Sonya is an upcoming graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County Class of 2005.
CAROLINA SALAZAR
Carolina Salazar is the recipient of recent awards from the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples and the Miami Dade Cultural Affairs Council/Tigertail Productions. Her work appears in collections both public and private in the state of Florida. Carolina’s recent professional work includes the CODE Group Exhibition at the Dorsch Gallery in Wynwood, Florida, and the Florida Fellowship Traveling Exhibition at the Deland Museum of Art.
