 A.   Basic Eligibility

Review and answer the following questions:

  • Is your organization a public entity governed by a county, municipality, school district, community college, college, university, or an agency of state government OR
  • a tax-exempt organization as defined in section 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended?
  • Is the tax-exempt organization registered as a Florida corporation in good standing?
  • Has your organization satisfied the administrative requirements of previous grants received from the Division of Cultural Affairs (if any)?
  • Will your organization agree and be able to match, at least dollar-for-dollar, the grant amount requested from the Division of Cultural Affairs?

If you answer YES to all of the above questions, your organization may meet the basic eligibility requirements for grant programs outlined by the Division. Skip to item B below.

If you answered NO to any of the above questions, contact the Division or review the guidelines for a more detailed explanation of basic eligibility requirements.

If you are NOT with an organization, but are an individual artist please review our programs for individual artists.

If you are NOT a non-profit organization, please review our opportunities and jobs section or resources for other opportunities and cultural resources.

 B. Specific Programs

Which grant program should my organization apply to?

The Division offers many grant programs with specific funding objectives. You should match the activity of your program and/or organization with the funding priorities of the particular grant program. Because you know your organization best, it is better for you to first review our programs and the related guidelines before contacting the Division with specific questions.

You must take into consideration several things when deciding which grant program is right for your organization:

  • The length of time the organization has been operational or incorporated
  • The organization’s history with Division grant programs
  • The type of funding the organization is seeking (General Program Support or Project Specific Funding)
  • Whether the organization is an arts or non-arts group
  • The type of artistic or cultural activity that your organization produces or presents.

The following questions will help direct you to programs that may fit your organization's needs and objectives.

1.   Has your organization been incorporated or operational for at least one year at the time of application deadline?

If NO: Review the Quarterly Assistance Program

If YES: Review other Division grant programs

2.  Has your organization received a grant from the Division of Cultural Affairs in the past?

If NO: The Quarterly Assistance Program is a good place to start, but not your only option.

If YES: Review other Division grant programs

3.  Are you interested in General Program Support or Project funding?

General Program Support : Review the Cultural Support Grants Program; Local Arts Agencies should review the Local Arts Agency Program;   Discipline Service Groups should review the State Service Organization Program.

Project Funding : Review other Division grant programs including the Cultural Support Grants Program - (Specific Project category); Arts in Education Program, International Cultural Exchange Program, and Challenge Grant Program.
