John Fleming, Tampa, Florida

John Henry Fleming is the author of The Legend of the Barefoot Mailman, a novel of Florida. He has published more than 20 short stories in magazines such as McSweeney’s, The North American Review, and Mississippi Review. He grew up in Lake Worth, Florida, attended college at the University of Virginia, University of Southern Mississippi, and the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, where he received a Ph.D. in creative writing. After living in seven other states, he returned to Florida in 2001 to teach creative writing program at the University of South Florida. He lives in Temple Terrace with his wife and two children.
