What is the Quarterly Assistance Program and how is it different from other Division programs?
The Quarterly Assistance Program is a category of grants with four deadlines throughout the year. Each deadline corresponds to a specific grant activity period; the grant activity period shortens with each succeeding deadline date. This period is always within the current fiscal year and provides opportunities for projects that will occur sooner rather than later.

What is available?
The Quarterly Assistance goals are achieved through five types of grants:
Mini-Grant, Staff Exchange, Consultant, In-Service Training, and Special Project.

What are the match requirements?
Match requirements are dollar for dollar ($1:$1). In other words, for every state dollar requested, the applicant must match it with one dollar. Half of the applicant’s match, however, may be in in-kind services; the other half in cash. Match is anticipated at the time of application; if the application is funded, the actual match figures will be included in the grantee’s final report.

How often can I apply?
Organizations can apply as often as necessary, BUT the needs and goals of the organization should dictate this. It is not appropriate for organizations to repeatedly apply to this program when other Division programs are available. If a mini-grant is awarded to an organization, for example, the next time the same organization applies for a mini-grant, the application will be flagged as a lower priority. Since one of the main goals of the Quarterly Assistance Program is to fund first-time applicants, it is easy to see why repeated applications will not be as competitive. Other than “first-timers,” organizations are encouraged to apply for projects and opportunities that are truly unforeseen, and could not have been included in a previous Cultural Support Grants Program application, for example.

How competitive is this category?
The Quarterly Assistance Program has a small fund and will be used throughout the year; as a result, the competition can be fierce. Please be aware that the number of applications and their requests often outweighs the funds available.
