Ayako Yonetani, violinist and violist, was born in Kobe, Japan, where, at the age of five, she began violin studies with the famous Saburo Sumi. Yonetani has performed in major cities around the world including New York, San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kosice. Recently she performed with the New Tokyo Philharmonic, Orlando Philharmonic, and the Slovak State Philharmonic of Kosice. She has also appeared with the NHK (Japan’s premier symphony) and the University of Central Florida Symphony. Yonetani brings the music of contemporary Japanese composers to American audiences. Residencies include master classes, chamber music coaching, and orchestra sectional work.
