From the concert stage to her curriculum based music education programs, Australian “OZ” Music Award winner, Seona McDowell’s enthusiasm for the varied cultures she encounters rubs off on everyone around her. Her concerts are lively, informative, thought-provoking, humorous, and interactive. Accompanying herself on guitar and autoharp, her family based multicultural concerts draw on her Australian, Irish, and English roots, treating her audiences to songs and stories that depict not only New Zealand and Australia, but other far away cultures. McDowell offers a songwriting residency for budding songwriters as well as classes in Australian music, culture, and history.
