Remember, research is key to success in securing other funding sources. It is important that you “get to know” the mission of the funding agency as well as agency priorities, objectives and initiatives. This approach will help you focus on funders whose priorities match those of your project or organization. In short, do your homework! The following list is not comprehensive, but it will provide you with a starting place to begin your research. Remember research does take time - plan ahead!!

The “Prospect Worksheet” provided by The Foundation Center http://foundationcenter.org/findfunders/wrksheet will be a useful tool as you complete your research.
