TALLAHASSEE, FL – Secretary of State Glenda E. Hood announces an exhibition of paintings by Oksana Kravchenko entitled Ukrainian Folk Art. The exhibition, which is on display in the Governor’s Gallery, will run from May 23 through August 18, 2003.

The striking paintings of Oksava Kravchenko are rich in color and filled with detail and interesting imagery. Painted in the traditional Ukrainian style, each visually exciting piece is intricately decorated with unique patterns of flowers, leaves and color. Her paintings of poetic birds, children playing, or happy events often incorporate elements of ancient Ukrainian mythology. Through her works, Kravchenko strives to expose Americans to the richness of the Ukrainian culture.

Ukrainian-born artist Oksana Kravchenko immigrated to the United States in 1994. She holds degrees from the Kyiv School of Art and the Kyiv State University. Her works can be seen throughout Florida at art festivals and in galleries. She currently resides in Lake Butler, Florida.
