Wild Florida—Nature Photography by Connie Bransilver on display in the Cabinet Meeting Room

Tallahassee, FLORIDA –

Secretary of State Kurt S. Browning announces Wild Florida, an exhibition of nature photography by Connie Bransilver. The photographs will be on display through August 14, 2009, in the Cabinet Meeting Room on the Lower Level of the Florida Capitol.

“Connie Bransilver’s Wild Florida exhibition is a superb collection that beautifully captures the diversity of Florida’s wildlife,” said Secretary of State Kurt Browning.

Connie Bransilver is known internationally as a nature photographer, artist, author and speaker. Her endeavors in photography have led her to photograph on all seven continents, but her passion for the Florida wilderness is beautifully documented in her books Wild Love Affair: Essence of Florida’s Native Orchids, and Florida’s Unsung Wilderness: The Swamps. Along with her books, she is widely published in local, national and international magazines, has co-produced a Wild Chronicles television segment with National Geographic, and has appeared on numerous television shows in the US and internationally.

“Using the best possible camera and field techniques, mastering the plays of natural light and shadow, I present the story my mind saw. Mine is not a computer-based art. It is the art of the natural world and of the heart,” says Connie Bransilver.

The exhibition is part of the Division of Cultural Affairs’ Capital Complex Exhibition Program. The Cabinet Meeting Room Gallery is located on the lower level of the Florida Capitol. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For further information, contact Brannon Solomon at the Division of Cultural Affairs at 850.245.6415
