| TALLAHASSEE, FL – Multi-media artworks by recipients of the Florida's First Lady's Arts Recognition Scholarship Award will be on exhibit at the Arts Learning Gallery. The exhibition features the artwork of seven talented high school seniors and will be on on display from March 5 through March 31, 2003. Making arts education one of her top priorities, Florida’s First Lady Columba Bush has been actively involved with the organization, Arts for a Complete Education/Florida Alliance for Arts Education (ACE/FAAE) for many years. Through the First Lady Scholarship program, twenty-four students each year receive a $1,000 scholarship for higher education in their art form. Since 1999, high school seniors in dance, media, music, theatre and visual arts have received these scholarships. The exhibition coincided with ACE DAY at the Capitol – a daylong of festivities featuring art students and educators and promoting the significance of arts education to the Florida legislature. The Arts Learning Gallery is on the first level of the R.A. Gray Building, home of the Museum of Florida History, at 500 South Bronough Street in downtown Tallahassee. Hours are Monday-Friday 9:00-4:30, Saturday 10:00-4:30 and Sunday and holidays Noon-4:30.
