Helen Burkett attended the University of Maryland, Corcoran School of Art, and various arts study groups. Her paintings have won numerous awards and have been included in many exhibits in the southeastern United States, including those sponsored by the Southern Watercolor Society, the Florida Watercolor Society, the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, the Midwest Watercolor Society, and the American Watercolor Society. She has had many solo shows and actively participates in national art festivals. Helen and her work were the subject of the article "High Contrast Florals" in American Artist magazine (July 1996). She is included in Who's Who of American Women (1997-98), and Who's Who in America (1998).
