"Mr. B" is a self-taught,
southern folk artist who finds peace of mind in his special kind of
art. His distinct style sets him apart from most other folk artists.
After receiving a head injury in a car accident in 1987, "Mr.
B" turned to art as therapy. His early painting reflecting his
feelings of anger and frustration. With a strong will and a loving
family, "Mr. B" changed his style of painting and dramatically
changed his subject matter. He finally conquered the angry beast within
and turned a seeming defeat into victory. "Mr. B" has exhibited
his artwork in the Very Special Arts Gallery in Washington, DC, and
has been involved with Very Special Arts on issues related to artists
with disabilities. In 2002, Mr. B exhibited his works in the Governor’s
Gallery as part of the Capitol Complex Exhibition Program.
