Florida has many city and county public art programs. From the largest and oldest, Miami-Dade Art in Public Places begun in 1973, to the City of Naples' public art ordinance passed in 2001, more and more Florida communities are recognizing the value of public art programs and taking steps to create their own. The Florida Division of Cultural Affairs provides information, advice and assistance to local entities for their public art effort. Artists interested in these programs should contact each organization directly to learn of their particular requirements.
