Description
The juried art show series, Culture Builds…, a series of three themed juried competitions, “Living Communities”, “Inspiring Spaces”, and “Evolved Play”, will emphasize the impact that culture has on our daily lives. Debuting in November 2012, each show will result in a six month exhibit of the selected artwork in a prestigious public city space. A judges’ critique will be provided on the judging day. An opening reception will be hosted the following Friday evening, and will showcase Ocala’s culture. Art may be sold during the exhibit.
Proceeds of this program will benefit the Marion Cultural Alliance and their grant program.
Prizes: A total of $6,000 will be awarded, $2,000 per show.
Eligibility: The competition is open to all visual artists who are 18 years of age or older. Only original drawings, oils, watercolors, acrylics, graphics, photography, mixed media, fiber, and sculpture completed within the last three years may be submitted. Work may not have been previously exhibited in Marion County, FL.
