Description
This permanent exhibit chronicles Henry Flagler’s dream of constructing an over-seas railroad to connect the Florida Keys with mainland Florida. From construction in 1904, to the train’s inaugural Key West arrival in 1912, through its destruction in the 1935 hurricane, the exhibit tracks the railroad's impact on Key West and the Florida Keys.
The exhibit brings Florida history to life and recounts a time 100 years ago, when the Key West Extension of the FEC Railway was called the 8th Wonder of the World!
