Artist and Activities
Born and raised in Japan, Ayako Yonetani offers classical music through violin performance. Ayako has appeared extensively both in the U.S. and internationally and strongly believes in the value of live performance.
Her repertoire includes Baroque to contemporary western music and contemporary Japanese music. Lecture and residency offerings give her the opportunity to discuss traditional Japanese music and current music education, conduct master classes with violin students, coach chamber music groups, and perform orchestra sectional work. Now a music professor at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Ayako holds academic degrees, including a doctorate, from the Julliard School where she studied with Hyo Kang and the late Dorothy DeLay.
Ayako is currently a full professor of violin and viola at UCF and is also a member of Japan’s premier chamber ensemble Kioi Sinfonietta Tokyo.
